Message from Your Principal:
Wow! I cannot believe we are already back together starting a new school year! I have been so impressed by the way our students have settled in and gotten right back into their routine. We have fabulous students here at Overdale! I want to thank all you parents for helping make our opening run so smoothly. I hope each of you has a wonderful week!

Medical Information
Thank you to everyone who worked hard to keep those appointments and update your child's immunization records! Please be sure to see the immunization document link above regarding new shot requirements this school year. If a student does not have the appropriate immunizations and documentation, they will not be able to attend school. Also , please be mindful of the date requirements for the second Hep A injection. If you have any questions, please call our office at 502-869-2800.
NEW* Volunteer Information
If you would like to volunteer or chaperone a field trip, please stop by the office to fill out the appropriate forms for a background check. The cost is $10.00 each, and both are good for two years.
*Due to changes with KRS 160.380, any and ALL volunteers MUST have a Child Abuse/Neglect (CAN) background check through the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. This background check is in addition to the existing background checks that are currently required of volunteers. The cost of the CAN check is $10.00 at the expense of the volunteer. The CAN checks are currently on a month delay so it is extremely important that we get them turned in as soon as possible. Without this check, volunteers will not be allowed to monitor, supervise, or work with students. This is now the law.
You may stop by the school office to fill out the CAN check form. Please be sure to bring your driver’s license to be copied and sent with the CAN check. If you should have any questions, please feel free to call the office at 502-869-2800. We appreciate your help in this matter as we want to ensure the most safe environment possible for our students.
School Safety News
This year we have made a few changes that will help ensure the safety of our students. When you come to the school to visit, please ring the bell for assistance. You will be asked to show your license before entering the building. You will then be asked again to show them upon entry. If you do not have a license, we are unable to allow you to enter. In addition, if you are going to visit for lunch or volunteer in a classroom, we ask that you leave your license in a file box in the front office. When you are ready to leave, you can sign out and pick up your license at this time. We so appreciate all our parents and volunteers! We appreciate you understanding that we are working to keep all our babies safe.
